IPGG ambition is to strengthen and expand the microfluidic « Revolution ».
Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, PGG for his students, emphasized on the importance of interfaces in science. All sorts of interfaces: between pure science and industry, between physics, chemistry, technology and biology. The creation of IPGG is inspired by this vision. Its ambition is to bear the microfluidic "revolution”.
The mission of IPGG is to launch a new Institute dedicated to microfluidics
The Institute undertakes ambitious actions that are now feasible thanks to the progress made in microfluidic technoly.
The objectives of the Institute are:
Build a world class platform dedicated to microfluidics;
Foster synergy and strengthen a leadership in the field;
Develop a virtuous circle research/industry, for which the Incubator will play an instrumental role;
Microfluidics or the science of manipulation of small fluid volumes with new technologies. Talking of the Industry world and Research, Pierre-Gilles de Gennes used to say that « both have everything...
IPGG is a LABEX and an EQUIPEX : it is supported by the « Investment for the Future Program ». It is run by a steering Comitee (COPIL), which plays a deliberative role on the funds granted...
The IPGG is 14 research teams in PSL partnering to develop microfluidics and its applications.
