Laboratoire Nanobioscience et Microsystèmes

UMR 8640
Our research activities are developed in the cross-disciplinary areas between physics, chemistry and biology, by using advanced nanofabrication and microfluidic tools. Our mission is to study the interaction between artificial and living systems at different length scales in order to improve our understanding of biological and biochemical processes as well as our capability to interact with biological systems at different levels. Our current interests are on the creation of artificial cell-microenvironment and microfluidic interfaces and devices for advanced tissue engineering, drug screening, diagnosis, etc. (synthetic cellular microenvironments), the design and production of emulsion for cell-droplet interactions (liquid interfaces bioengineering) and the reversible photo-control of bottom-up designed nano-bio-systems involving gene expression and protein synthesis (synthetic epigenetics).
